Navya Foundation strongly believes in helping the elderly, the poor, welfare of women and children. For a just and equitable society, the first and foremost requirement is that woman should not only have their needs fulfilled, but also their rights addressed. Navya Foundation sees education, nutrition, healthcare and empowerment as the essential tools of the development.

  1. Helping the poor: On one hand, there are persons who live their lifetime extravagantly. They are not only relishing the bliss of necessities but also have what they need and wish; an expensive lifestyle giving them an additional luxury. On the other hand, there are individuals who cannot even have enough money for the basic requirements of living. They do not have houses for living, food to eat, and even cover their body with proper clothes. Persons who have additional money and resources are existing in a relaxed and an aristocratic world. While those who hardly have the essentials are struggling every day for survival. They don’t even get their necessities.

Underprivileged individuals do not have sufficient clothes, nourishment, schooling and health care. They have scarcity of food, face danger of illnesses and absence of health care and basics for sustenance following in little success.

The extra you provide to deprived and poor persons, you further support their dependence.

Some methods to support the underprivileged and deprived individuals can be as follows:

  • Social Media has turned out to be one of the greatest ways to support the underprivileged and deprived individuals and feasibly, the easiest method as well. Through the usage of social media and Social Networking websites like Facebook and twitter, anyone can raise his or her concern and generate responsiveness and come to be a helping hand; can attach to many organizations or community hubs who are serving the poor persons; can purchase goods available from sites that contribute a share of their profits to assistance that benefits the deprived and poor persons.
  • We can connect with several events and design many plans for raising of funds like assistance in generating alertness in the society through various approaches like conducting demonstrations such as street shows, etc.
  • By leading group initiatives of getting food, clothes, books, blankets and other supplies one can aid the underprivileged and poor persons with.
  • Even the slightest efforts count. We can benefit the unfortunate and poor public by being thoughtful of their needs, requirements and opinions without lessening their self-respect and serving them so that they can attain those desires in a reputable manner.
  • Addressing issues of needy children: Bereaved, left alone, underfed or deserted, Indian kids are in front of the dim side of the pandemic. India is home to 31 million homeless children and COVID has only added to that number. As of June 5, India has documented 3,632 orphans and 26,176 children who have lost one parent to coronavirus. These children are not only going through tremendous emotional disturbance, they are also at a great menace of undergoing abandonment, exploitation and abuse. Also, numerous children who were by now homeless or below the poverty line have confronted starvation, absence of schooling and sustenance. They also face danger of trafficking, child labour and mental and physical abuse.

Adopting is not an instant answer to this as it encompasses a prolonged authorized procedure for protection of the benefits of the child and is often not a feasible choice for kids who are somewhat grown-up. Shelter homes too are usually packed. Altogether these issues are bringing an ineffaceable influence on a child’s development and growth.

Organized as Navya Foundation we can safeguard India’s children from living a life of abandonment and exploitation. We have originated to deliver a healthy and innocent life to children who are losing their childhood to this pandemic. Navya Foundation will provide them with:

  • Nourishment and food to confirm right development and growth
  • Health expenditures to offer important health care facilities
  • School cost together with institute fees, books and stationery
  • Community and mental sustenance through counselling sittings
  • Clothing and cleanliness
  • Pays to caregivers
  • Helping the migrant workforce: As per the reports of WHO, the COVID-19, first reported in December 2019, put the entire world in an unparalleled emergency and haunting ambiguity with countless demises, generalised financial hopelessness, joblessness, isolation, inevitable lockdown, and travel-ban that was compulsory internationally as a requirement to challenge the pandemic. Among the public, the migrants were found to be one of the most helpless clusters in this lockdown, as their very living came to a broad end. We saw the difficulties faced by the migrants, who had the persistent want to go back home to security in spite of the severe monetary shortage and transportation problems. The insufficient foods and deficiency of amenities particularly put the women and children in agony and created a lot of psychosocial problems. Navya Foundation emphasises the necessity to start a robust principled association between the local residents, health organizations, local administration machineries, and human rights associations to help the migrants. The unified support of every member of Navya Foundation deserves to be mentioned over here as they came out of way pooling their personal caliber of every sort to help the migrant workforces. Some members joined this initiative by using their kitchens to produce hundreds of cooked meals every day. Few others also volunteered to deliver food, slippers and other resources using their personal conveyances during the times of lockdown and curfew conditions. To make a continuous effort in helping the migrant workforces we started distributing ration, cooked meals and few important grocery items like soap, sanitary pads, medicines, masks etc. Not just food and resources for migrant workforce but also, we tried to help them with temporary shelter homes, beddings, Sheet covers and blankets to make them feel warm and safe.
  • Free legal Helpline services provided to women and weaker section:  Legal services includes counseling, filing and handling of court cases. Foundation takes up the cases of harassment (of the provisions of the constitution and of the other laws relating to women) for domestic violence, dowry, dowry deaths, torture, bigamy, rape, cruelty by husbands, sexual harassment at work place, deprivation, discrimination in employment, gender discrimination, refusal to register F.I.R. etc. Foundation team looks into complaints and takes Suo moto notice of matters relating to deprivation of women’s rights and settle family dispute through counseling. 4. Provision for carrying out publicity campaign at local level to create awareness amongst farmers towards the free facilities and benefits under different schemes and programmes.
  5. A farmer friendly hand-book for farmers has also been already published in some regional languages. All the States are encouraged to bring out similar publications in their regional language incorporating the Facilities and benefits available under both the central and State specific programmes/schemes. All these handbooks are uploaded on the portal http://farmer.gov.in for greater access by the farmers.
  6. SMS portal for farmers is also being used to spread awareness of facilities being extended to farmers and also to give advisories. More than 100 crore SMS messages have been sent to farmers in 12 languages by thousands of officers & experts (of Central Government, State Governments, SAUs, KVKs etc.) spread across the country down to the Block level.
  1. Shelter, food and clothing (Basic Amenities for elderly/old age and poor people): When I was a child, my mother used to teach me that food, clothing and shelter are the basic necessities for human survival. Medical assistance and treatments are required for ill and suffering people. But knowing it all it pains to see me that poor people are unable to afford proper food and clothing. Also, there is a great struggle for them to manage a roof on their heads.

I feel God has given me an opportunity to help the mankind in distress and poverty. By being a part of the Navya Foundation I got my wings to help the poor and the elderly by providing them food, clothing, slippers and other necessities that are required by every individual. Also, we are making a constant effort to provide shelter to the poor and a home like environment to the elderly people who have been shown the doors by their own children.
